Fresh paint can make a world of difference to the aesthetic appeal of your home. But once you’ve invested in a new paint job for the interior of your home, what now? How long can you expect the paint to last? Did you make a big investment painting your home just to have time and conditions wear down the newly beautiful interior of your home? Although some wear and tear is to be expected over the years, there are steps you can take to extend the life of your paint.
The greatest real threat to the life of your paint, especially in a moist climate like Texas, is mold. High levels of humidity accelerate the growth of mold. Mold growth also thrives especially well in moist rooms of the home such as bathrooms and the kitchen. If you find mold growth early, you can easily treat it yourself, which is why being aware of the paints condition is so critical.
If you discover mold growth, you can treat it by cleaning the area with four parts water one part bleach solution. This solution should stop the growth of mold across a small area but if the growth has become too extensive you may need a professional to assess the damage and treat the area. Often times extensive mold growth on the surface means there is even more damage that can’t easily be seen.

We highly recommend Southland Painting for any construction project around the home. They really can do it all. After remodeling our bathroom, we had the same crew install a stamped concrete patio in the backyard a week later.

Window Replacement Testimonial
These guys are great. I've used them at least five or six times. Also Southland just replaced the windows that were in really bad shape at our rental property in Onalaska.
